I am interested in the chemical interactions between organisms. During my Ph.D. I have studied the interactions between the butterflyfishes (Chaetodontidae) and their gill monogenean parasites. I have studied the parasite communities and biogeography of butterflyfishes in the tropical Indo-Pacific Islands and I developed a non-targeted LC/MS metabolomic approach to study their gill mucus and its relationship to gill parasitism.
